Laser Hair Reduction - Pre & Post Treatment Guidelines

Pre-treatments:

4 weeks prior – do not wax, bleach, or use hair removal creams or electrolysis on treatment area.

1-2 weeks prior – discontinue tanning – sun, UV tanning machines, self-tanning creams and sprays

24 hours prior – shave treatment area

Day of treatment:

Do not apply any lotions to the treatment area, including make-up or deodorant.

Wear loose fitting clothing that will leave the treatment area exposed and easily accessible for treatment.

Between treatments:

Do not pluck or wax during your laser hair removal treatments as this will disrupt the hair growth cycle and you may not receive the best results from your treatment.

Post treatments:

Avoid UV exposure and self-tanning creams until your treatments are completed.

Your skin may be pink or even red in the treated area, this is quite normal. Redness may last from a few minutes up to 24 hours and it may feel a little like mild sunburn or windburn. You can apply a cold compress if required. Apply SPF30 sunscreen daily. We recommend you do not go the gym, pool, spa for at least 24 - 48hours to avoid heat or excessive sweating. See our post-treatment advice below for more information.

Do not pick or scratch the treated area as this may result in discolouration or damage. Keep the treated area clean and dry; avoid rubbing the treated area - exfoliating products, peels, brushes, loofah sponges and course face cloths until the treated skin has returned to normal. Tight fitted clothing may also cause friction to the treated area.

It is rare but possible that a graze, burn or blister may appear following treatment. If this occurs, please contact your treatment provider immediately and further care instructions can be given.
